1998

Spring

Summer of 1998 I want back to KC to find work, the small town we lived in was lacking in things to support my family and pay my child support. The main source of work was working at the chicken factory and that sucked. Not long after I had been in KC, I had a psychic impression my wife was cheating on me. I called down to Arkansas to talk to her, her sister answered the phone saying’ “she’s not here right now”. So I asked, “Where she at, her boyfriends”? She said, “How did you know”? Busted. So needles to say, the divorce papers we filed that coming fall.

In the fall of 1998 my grandmother found an ad for C R England and Sons, so I was looking at two options at that time; Truck Driving school or Bar Tending school. The ad for C R England said that they were offering a $2000 sign on bonus; little did we know, that was for experienced drivers. Maybe I should have did the bar tending, but my child support was going threw the roof and I had to do something; trucking offered me free housing. So I went that route.
